"20 Steps for Starting Your
Janitorial Business"

Dear Visitor,

Hello! My name is Chris Sinclair. I've owned and operated my own successful janitorial business since 1977, and I can absolutely guarantee you that checking out this website will be the best time you'll ever invest in your financial future.

JaniQuest is so much more than just a "how to" book - we're an entirely new concept in the janitorial industry - a living, breathing, interactive organization offering dozens of tools that can assist you in building your own high-profit janitorial business, with the lowest investment in the shortest amount of time.

Marketing experts always say, "Try to get your message across in one sentence", and believe me, I've tried a hundred times. But our program has so many totally unique features that all I can say is, "For the sake of your financial future, read the website"!

Now for a couple of questions, a short story, and how we can help you (this is fun for me to write, because right now you have no idea how much we can help you!)

  • Are you looking for a new opportunity to replace or add to your income? To make your financial life a lot more comfortable?
  • Do you have a job and you’re worried about financial security?
  • Do you already know the huge income potential of janitorial, but don’t know where to start?
  • Have you been looking at janitorial franchises but they’re just too expensive?

In any case, JaniQuest is your solution – totally affordable, and packed with all the information and ongoing support you need.

Like I said at the beginning, I've owned a successful cleaning business for over 30 years now.

Okay, let me rephrase that - it really didn't feel successful until I was about five years into it. The only thing that saved my business in those first few years was that I was willing to work REALLY hard.

I made every mistake in the book - I advertised in all the wrong places, I bid too high and too low on contracts, I spent too much money on the wrong equipment, and I hired ALL the wrong people.

I can't even tell you how much time and money and earning potential I wasted. I was literally inventing and re-inventing my business every day.

But I learned from my mistakes, and for many years now I've had a smooth-running business that takes up just 3 or 4 hours of my day. Of course some days are longer, such as when I'm bidding on a big new building. But that's time that I'm happy to spend!

I would never want to go through that expensive learning process again, and that brings me to my next question - If you knew that you could skip all of that expensive trial and error and go straight to what works and leave the rest behind, why would you try doing it on your own? Instant knowledge from someone who's been there is the best return on investment you can ever make.

One day in 2002, a friend asked me if I still had the building that he cleaned for me back in the late 1980's. I said we did, and that we were coming up on our 20th year and our 4th building with that account. Looking back on it, I realized just that one account literally paid for my home and financed my daughter's private education.

My friend knew that kind of long-term service was almost unheard of, and he said, "You should write a book on how you built your business - I guarantee there are people out there who would love to know what you know".

So I started to write, a page here and there. Eventually I had a 120-page book and a training video. Curious as to how it would sell, I put small classified ads in the back of Entrepreneur Magazine. I didn't even have a website. In two years it sold over 300 copies, and only one person returned it for a refund. And I know he copied it before he returned it!

Then I stopped selling the package, because I wanted to update it to reflect the latest cleaning technology and all of the new business-building tools available on the Internet. I added about 90 pages to the book, and reshot the video.

Now it just so happens that my sister-in-law is a professional business coach (she's also my business coach - it's nice to have family with useful professions), and she knew I was working on the update. She introduced me to Alex Von Allmen, the owner of BrandMother. Alex is a bit of a creative genius in developing brand names, logos, websites, and systems to support them.

We talked for quite a few hours over the course of a couple of weeks, my explaining the janitorial business and my package, and he explaining how he could help.

Actually, Alex did more than that. He completely revolutionized every idea I had about my package - the ways we could offer it to people, and just how much we could help them. With the Internet, we could take my package "light years" beyond the book and video.

He suggested that we form an organization around the package. People could use the JaniQuest name and logo to present a professional image "right out of the box", and yet they could retain total independence.

It would have many of the advantages of a franchise, but without the high costs. We envisioned a community of like-minded people who could come together for the benefit of all, and yet remain totally independent of each other. And because the Internet makes the sharing of information so easy and inexpensive, we could make it affordable for anyone.

I started a "wish list" of everything I wished I'd had when I was building my business - problems that I knew still exist today for people who are just starting up and building.

Alex and I went over that list many times, and we benefited greatly from each other's perspectives. My head started to swim with the new possibilities, because we kept coming up with so many solutions.

So, we set upon developing JaniQuest. We designed two main websites to support our subscribers.

The first is a "Locate a Contractor" website that allows building managers and owners (customers) to find JaniQuest members (that would be you) in their area. You can see a sample listing on the "Screenshots" page.

The second is a password-protected "Member's Only" website where our subscribers can get new information, updates on the book, training videos, find out about new cleaning techniques and equipment, ask and answer questions on the Member's Forum, and get a new Tax Tip strategy every month.

And of course, there's the 210-page book. Everything I know about the business, from starting up the right way to effective advertising, bidding on jobs, finding the right employees and much, much more.

Our DVD demonstrates all the common tasks involved in cleaning a building, and we also cover keys, security, and alarm systems. Your new cleaning employess can watch the DVD to give them a great head-start on their training. I'd say 95% of all janitorial companies don't even have a training video.

Our Documents CD has dozens of sales letters and business forms that you can load into Word and customize to fit your business.

And one last question - why would you spend thousands of dollars and possibly years of your own valuable time to invent all of these things on your own, when we've already done them for you?

JaniQuest can show you how to start and build a great business the right way, saving you so much money "up front" and maximizing your profits from the very beginning.

I've barely scratched the surface of how we can help you to "get where you want to be". As you check out the rest of this website, I think you'll be amazed at what we have to offer.
