The “Find a Contractor” Results Page.
When a building owner or manager in your area enters his zipcode on our main www.janiquest.com site, here’s an example of what he’ll see, as long as his building is within 50 miles of your address.

This gives your prospect your contact information, a photo of you or the JaniQuest logo, and your motto. The entire www.janiquest.com website is a support site for all members, and it is directed at building owners and managers.

Download a New Sales Postcard Every Month - or Every Day!

These postcards can be customized
in many different programs, and even online at our favorite postcard printer. The "back" sides of the postcards give your prospects an invitation to call you for a quote on their cleaning needs. Why spend time and money on postcard design when we've done it for you?
And the postcards are archived on the Members Only website, so you can use any card, any time, as often as you like. It's all part of the monthly membership, with no extra charges.
The Bidding Database Page:
The Bidding Database is a “fill-in” form on the Members Only website. Members can take the numbers (such as square feet of the building, population, how long it takes to trash, vacuum, etc) from their successful contracts and can enter them into the form. We then post the full report (full reports are too large to show here) on the Members Only site and we do an analysis of the contract.
Every report is submitted anonymously, so no one is "giving away" their company name, their city or state, the names of customers, etc. Member's privacy is of the utmost importance! This way you can benefit from reports from other contractors, and submit your own reports, with total confidence.
We feel this feature is one of the most valuable aspects of membership. Here’s a sample:
JaniQuest Analysis of Report #116, submitted on April 23, 2007.
Description: A 40,000 square foot, two-story, single tenant building with a population of 130 employees.
40,000 square feet divided by 130 population = a density of 307 sq. ft./person (3.25 people/1000 sq. ft.).
140 hours per month for regular nightly cleaning divided by 21 nights per month = 6.66 hrs per night.
6.66 hours per night x 60 minutes per hour = 399 minutes per night, so we can then figure that…
40,000 divided by 399 minutes = 100.25 square feet per minute for regular nightly cleaning.
100.25 square feet per minute x 60 minutes = 6015 square feet per hour.
40,000 square feet divided by 165 minutes to trash = 242 sq. ft. / minute to trash, or 4 minutes/1000 sq.ft.
40,000 square feet divided by 90 minutes to vacuum = 444 sq ft / minute, or 2.25 minutes/ 1000 sq.ft.
130 population divided by 165 minutes for trashing = .78 minutes (or 45 seconds) average to trash for each person. Remember that this also includes emptying a recycle at each desk, spot-dusting and spot-cleaning, and emptying all other trash, such as restroom trash, lunchroom trash, exterior trashcans, etc.
$3990 divided by 40,000 square feet = 9.9 cents per square foot.
$3990 billing divided by 130 population = $30 monthly charge for each person of population.
$3990 divided by 140 hours per month = $28.50 per hour.
140 total hours x $11 per hour wage = $1540 per month for labor without wage taxes and overhead figured in (wage taxes and overhead were not reported).
$3990 - $1540 = $2450 profit without wage taxes and overhead figured in.
$2450 divided by $3990 = a 61% profit without wage taxes and overhead figured in.
These reports give you a number of resources: (1) They can give you valuable “comparison” numbers on bids you are figuring; (2) They show you how to analyze your own contracts; (3) The reports that we receive will be used to arrive at “benchmarks”, or averages, that we will post (for instance, we’ll be able to say that it takes an average of “x” number of minutes to clean a building with a density of 3 people per 1000 square feet); and (4) Eventually we’ll have enough benchmarks that we will be able to build a “calculating” bidding software that will only be available to Members.
The Web Poll Survey:
The Weekly Web Poll is on the Members Only site. We’ll come up with a new and pertinent question every week, you vote, and we’ll post the results. And who knows, around August or September we might ask, “Who’s going to be in the World Series?”
